World famous Left arm Pakistani fast-bowler Wasim Akram firmly believes that Pakistan Cricket team has fair enough chances of lifting the world cup Trophy which will be held in England and Wales from 30th May onwards.

Just in case you forgot, Pakistan’s has won the world cup in 1992 under Captaincy of the Great Imran Khan. Wasim Akram played an important role in that cup.

In addition to his outstanding performances, he was also nominated as the man of the match within the final of the 1992 world cup for his fascinating thirty-three runs from just eighteen balls and thrilling three wickets for forty-nine runs only.

While speaking to Media, he said that

It’s a format that was used in the 1992 World Cup, all teams have to play each other.

He further added that this format just eliminates the luck factor (if any).

In this tournament, luck factor won’t work like there was the Super Six format where Kenya qualified for the semi-final. Here, the four best teams will qualify. Pakistan has a good chance.

Wasim views regarding Pakistan’s Future Captain

Apart from the number of Young Players in the side Akram thinks that Amir may be the player who can lead the Pakistani side in the near future.

Although Amir has not performed well in the previous few matches Amir is still one of the best bowlers in the world. I also see him as a future captain of Pakistan team.

It is worth mentioning here that ICC cricket world cup will start from May 30th. Top 10 teams will take part in this mega event. However, Pakistan will play its first match against Westindies on 31st May.
